“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Trade serves as the administrative body for the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Trade of the Faroe Islands. With a diverse mandate, it oversees diplomatic affairs, foreign relations, and vital economic sectors.
The Ministry is responsible for foreign relations, security, and defence. The Faroese Foreign Service operates under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Industry, managing foreign affairs and international relations. It maintains seven representations abroad in Brussels, Copenhagen, London, Moscow, Reykjavik, and Tel Aviv, with an additional office opening in Washington in autumn 2024.
Nationally, the Ministry oversees a wide array of responsibilities, encompassing trade, innovation, agriculture, tourism, aquaculture, ICT, cybersecurity, telecommunications, among other sectors.”
