Elsa Berg is the newly elected Mayor of Tórshavn Municipality, the largest town and capital of the Faroe Islands. She has been a member of the town council for the party Tjóðveldi since 2021 and, at just 29 years old, has already been politically active for a long time. Elsa holds a BSc in Ecology and has a deep passion for the environment. She has been a prominent advocate for protecting the unique Faroese natural environment and is dedicated to advancing Tórshavn in areas such as recycling, becoming a leading municipality in nature conservation, and promoting innovative thinking.
