Innovating for the Future of the Ocean Economy

Emil Gejrot is an adviser at Nordic Innovation and has a particular focus on innovation in ocean-based sectors. He has extensive experience of project management and policy analysis in the Nordic region and beyond. He holds MA degrees from the universities of Aberdeen and Heidelberg but now works in – and for – the Nordic region.

Thordur and Emil will be hosting a captivating discussion on Innovating for the future of the Ocean Economy. This theme ties into the Nordic Oceans 2050 project, which deals with future scenarios for the Nordic Ocean economy and should be more than halfway to completion by the beginning of May 2025. The discussion of future scenarios can also be combined with insights into ocean financing, ocean tech, and/or ocean innovations more broadly. The talks will focus on how the North Atlantic region can best prepare for and make the most of current and future trends, whether these trends are understood as opportunities or as threats.
