Animation as a Powerful Tool

Animation is commonly known for its presence in children’s media, as well as film. However, it is applied far beyond the realm of entertainment.
With its ability to convey complex ideas, and catch the eyes of audiences, it’s a valuable asset many take for granted.
I hope to demystify some of the aspects of animation, and give a broader understanding of the craft as an art form, but also a powerful tool.

Svanna Christiansen is an animator and director with a strong foundation in both the theory and practice of animation. A graduate of The Animation Workshop, she has worked at several Danish studios, gaining industry experience across different production pipelines.

She has led a team of 12 in creating the animated short film “Monkey Movie”, prioritizing strong visuals and animation to support both the film’s quality and her team’s portfolios as much as possible. Now, she is developing her own projects, refining pitches, and seeking public funding to bring more animation to the Faroe Islands.
